John Hancock Field Station
As you know, the Fox class will be participating in Outdoor School. The 7th/8th graders will be traveling to John Hancock Field Station in Eastern Oregon near Fossil, Oregon.
Transportation: We will be traveling by bus to and from the John Hancock Field Station. This year, we have secured a bus through the Oregon City School District. It is expected that each child will ride the bus to and from our scheduled Outdoor School activities.
Lodging: While at John Hancock, we will be staying in cabins. The plan is to select sleeping arrangements by gender, the specific process that will assign students to cabins is being developed. There will be one or two adult chaperones in each cabin.
Meals: All meals will be provided through the program. If any student has dietary restrictions, allergies, or special needs (for example vegetarian), please let us know so we can make accommodations. All students will need to bring a lunch for the first day, all food needs to be consumed prior to departing the bus.
Apparel: We will send home a more specific list of what the students need to pack before the trip. Please keep in mind the weather is unpredictable and we will be doing activities rain or shine.
Payment: Each family is expected to pay $275 for each Outdoor School experience. With this said, we want all students to participate in Outdoor School. If your family needs to talk about assistance, please contact Dawn. We will make arrangements with the school to ensure that your child can participate.
We are all very excited and are looking forward to this experience. More information will be coming as we get closer to the date. If you have any questions, please let us know.
